It is not definite when the road reached Cumberland River, but it would have been in the period between 192428. The final section opened was at Mt Defiance in 1932. In fact, these sites were periodically used as bottom camps up until the 1970’s. Accommodation in our Cedar Cabins with en suite is set in a pretty peaceful valley surrounded by bush land and the Cumberland River. Our cabins look across the lush expanse of the lovely Cumberland River Holiday Park and the exquisite gold reflecting towering cliffs. Each Cedar Cabin has a packed length veranda overlooking exquisite grounds and amazing surrounding cliffs that the park is famous for. Electrical appliances such as hair dryers and toasters cannot be used. We have a separate fully equipped laundry facility situated in the middle of the park which is close at all times. NO other power is available making it a authentic safari experience. If you love a holiday park with compressed lush grassed camping grounds then Cumberland River Holiday Park is the lushest seen anywhere in Australia. Our Cumberland River Cedar Cabins with en suite are set in a attractive clam valley surrounded by bush land and sea. They feature a gas lookalike fire place, plasma television which has 40 satellite channels to choose from, a fully functional kitchen with stuffed size stove and refrigerator. NO other power is available making it a real experience. In this area, we have the wiggly bit’ of the Huge Ocean Road, where the mountains and river confront the sea. The road to Apollo Bay (40 minutes west by car) winds its way up, down and around the cliff face rewarding the traveler with the most spectacular sea, beach, rock pool and mountain views. The river’s popular swimming hole’ is a vast deposit to relax on a warm summer’s day or wander your way along the river to its mouth at the surf beach. At night, nearby Horne Victoria affords splendid dining at its many restaurants and hotels where you can watch the sun go down on the beach or take a stroll along the pier and watch the locals fishing for their tea. Weddings at Cumberland River Holiday Park can present you a private and magical setting for your exceptional day. Its peaceful river flowing by a unique rock formation is nothing brief of spectacular.
